Jake Levine - product, technology, and cybersecurity
I’ve spent the past 20+ years building, launching, and managing software products across startups, large corporations, and nonprofits.
Lately, I’ve been consulting for nonprofits and mission-driven organizations on cybersecurity and technical strategy — especially in cases where internal capacity is limited. I’ve also been building a
suite of applications all under my
ONO LLC consulting umbrella. I also run an
Etsy store and a
Reverb Shop - and I’m always down to talk synths.
Prior to starting my consulting business in late 2022, I spent 6 years as the CTO/CPO of
Vote.org - the nation’s largest nonprofit and nonpartisan get-out-the-vote organization. During my tenure there, we helped hundreds of millions of Americans register to vote and stay engaged in the democratic process (butts in seats is arguably most important in the healthy operation of a democracy). Prior to that, I was managing consumer and business facing products for companies like Myspace, Live Nation & AEG (butts in seats of a different kind), and Idealab. Through various jobs, I was fortunate enough to get involved in several interesting patents
6,513,003 and
8,355,949. It is rumored that I once juggled rubber chickens in the desert near Area 51, but all other photo evidence has been classified. I was also one of the nominees for
Best Ikea Hack of the Year 2010. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Journalism.

And for fun, I went and grabbed the last known content from my myspace profile circa 2011:
It's always interesting to try to put these descriptions of yourself together. I think Octavia Butler hit it pretty well for me when describing herself as "...an oil-and-water combination of ambition, laziness, insecurity, certainty, and drive." I've liked that for a long time. Maybe that's a lot of us, but that's how I feel about myself...when i'm being honest. I think the rest is self-projection, the things I'd like you to think about me...and I'd rather just meet you for coffee, tea or bottle of colt 45 and see what you come out thinking.
