How I weaned myself off my phone
I made all the icons black and white, reduced number of apps that could show badges, turned off app names/text, turned off most notifications, and generally made it less useful/usable and convenient. This also had the unintended but great effect of making the phone more peaceful and calm when I did use it. I do have an Apple Watch too, but I kept the notification settings the same as the phone (fewer notifications everywhere). And boy do I have more time and focus on my hands. And I don’t miss critical things despite the fear that I would.
