Ikea hack post (and update - I was nominated for Ikea Hack of the Year 2010)

I live in a converted space in Downtown Los Angeles…not a large place…and so space is at a premium. I needed to find a place for my desk and to put it in a command position with a ton of windows meant it would be where the bed normally goes. So I moved my bed further off the wall than normal and needed some kind of divider between the back of the desk and my head.

I saw some cool narrow planters in DTLA with mother in law tongue plants and though that might make a good divider. However, those planters were very expensive. Cue the trip to Ikea and searching for something purpose built or that maybe I could modify.
